Pre-configured for your model
TAICO, from Shenzhen, makes LiFePO4 batteries in 24 V and 48 V, wall-mounted or stacked, from about 5 kWh to 20 kWh per pack. You find them behind hybrid inverters in homes, offices and shops, very often where the grid goes off every day and the battery carries the evening. What the owner sees of it is usually a percentage on the inverter screen.
TAICO Monitor reads the battery’s own BMS through its RS485 port. You see the state of charge as the battery computes it, every cell voltage, temperatures and alarms, on a small screen by the battery, on your Wi-Fi and, through the free Cloud, from anywhere. Home Assistant gets it all over MQTT, and nothing is ever written to the battery.
Read from the BMS, so you can trust it even when the inverter’s estimate drifts.
All the cell voltages with the gap between the highest and the lowest.
Cell and board temperatures, worth watching in a hot room or a closed cabinet.
How long the battery carried the house during each power cut, day after day.
On your Wi-Fi at home, and anywhere in the world through the free Cloud.
MQTT discovery and a JSON API for every other automation tool.
Charge, cells and temperature on your phone, without walking to the battery or opening an app next to it.
Works without internet on the local Wi-Fi; with a connection, the Cloud shows it from anywhere.
Every value in Home Assistant or Jeedom in about a minute, to drive your own automations.
Follow your customers’ systems with your own Cloud access, without asking for their passwords.
TAICO Monitor tells Home Assistant when the battery fills up and when it runs low. Four simple rules, and the washing machine, the water heater and the car use your sun instead of the grid. Watch a day:
Your solar production
Your consumption
Automations
Logbook
Simulation of a sunny day for a house with 5 kWp of panels, a 10 kWh battery, a car that needs 10 kWh and a water heater. The energy delivered to each appliance is the same in both scenarios; only the timing changes. Your figures depend on your system, your tariff and the weather.
The chart shows when the battery started charging, when it reached full, how hard the house drew on it in the evening and what was left at sunrise. Where the grid fails every day, it shows exactly how many hours the battery bought you, and whether that number holds as the months go by.
The free Cloud shows it from anywhere in the world, keeps three years of data and exports it to a spreadsheet.
Pick a situation: this is what TAICO Monitor shows you about each cell of your TAICO pack. Values simulated.
A TAICO battery often carries a home or a shop through daily power cuts, sometimes while the owner is at work or travelling. The free Cloud shows its charge, its cells and its alarms from wherever you are, and keeps three years of history.
Every value and every cell, refreshed on their own, on your phone.
Charge, kWh in and out, temperatures, cell spread, day by day.
Six hours without news from your box and we tell you.
Home Assistant, Node-RED, a widget… no port forwarding, no VPN.
Everything stored, ready for your spreadsheet.
Your installer sees the system without your password; you keep your own access.
Optional: your box stays fully local if you prefer. Switch the Cloud on or off in its settings at any time.
How the free Cloud works →State of charge, power, the lowest and highest cell, temperature and alarms become sensors, so your smart home can save the battery for what matters during a cut.
When the battery discharges with no grid and sensor.taico_monitor_soc falls under 40%, the air conditioner and the water pump are switched off; lights, fridge and router stay on.
If sensor.taico_monitor_temperature goes above 40 °C, you get a notification and a fan in the battery room is switched on.
Each evening, Home Assistant records how many hours the battery ran the house that day, so you see whether the autonomy holds over the months.
When the battery is above 95% and the panels still produce, the water heater is switched on instead of wasting the sun.
Type the address of Home Assistant in the box, a user and its password: that’s it. The TAICO Monitor device and all its sensors appear on their own, ready for your dashboards and the Energy page.
